Richard McNamee lives in rural NW Washington and has long running Architectural Photography practice. His work has appeared in several books and numerous magazines. There is a self-published book of still lifes, Botanica Perspicio. He has been training himself to work quickly and intuitively, trying to become unselfconscious or self-editing. His photos have a vague narrative where the viewer can make up their own stories. Sometimes he just improvises (he’s life-long musician), starting with a box of miscelanea or a location and go where it takes him, letting themes emerge. He believes the best photography, like music, transports you to a time and place.
